French green clay is known for its ability to absorb toxins on the skin. It is used extensively in spas around the world. The French Green Clay we use in our soap is mined in the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France, and contains high amounts of iron oxides and decomposed plant matter primarily from seaweed, algae, and kelp, thus contributing to its naturally green color. French Green Clay was formed in rock quarries located in southern France, and contains a mineral known as montmorillonite, as well as magnesium, calcium, potassium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, copper, and selenium. We add this clay to our Goat's Milk Soap, which gives it a smooth, buttery feeling paired with a scent that is irresistible.
